Seventeen floors up in a Battersea ex-council block, this apartment had gone decades without a meaningful update. The bones were solid: great light, open proportions, sweeping city views. But the interiors told a different story. The clients came to us with a clear vision and a beloved colour palette: the vibrant energy of orange meeting the serene depth of blue. This wasn't a redecoration; it was a revival.
The living room became the heart of it all. We painted the walls a rich, deep navy that instantly created a sophisticated backdrop, then set a luxurious burnt orange velvet sofa front and centre. The kind of contrast that makes a room feel alive the moment you walk in. Dark wooden flooring grounds the space, while a framed photograph of a power station above the sofa adds an unexpected industrial-chic touch that nods to the energy of London outside.
A regal red velvet lampshade with intricate gold fringing casts a warm glow from the corner, and the large window is framed by navy curtains drawn back with gold rope tie-backs and decorative tassels. Small details that elevate the whole room. The marble coffee table hosts a curated display of colourful flowers, golden accents, and tastefully bound books.
Beyond the living space, a gold sunburst mirror against bespoke wallpaper featuring a delicate peacock print in pastel pinks and jungle hues creates an entrance that's pure sophisticated whimsy. The dining area takes its own direction: emerald green chairs around a marble table, with a Venus de Milo print adding a classical note against botanical wallpaper.
Even the everyday moments are designed. A brunch table styled with fresh flowers, artisan bread, and carefully chosen ceramics shows how the space actually lives. This is a home that works as beautifully for Saturday morning coffee as it does for dinner parties. The result is unapologetically maximal: rich colour, mixed eras, and a confidence that comes from knowing exactly who you are.

We wanted bold but liveable. Somewhere that felt like us, not a show home. Mahdi absolutely nailed it.
